I am the son of working-class, Mexican immigrants. I currently live and practice in the U.S. I consider myself a modern-day alchemist as I've cracked various codes to finding love, living fully and with purpose. I work within the intersections of racial-ethnic identity, neurodivergence, trauma, and spirituality (the transpersonal) to assist my clients in acquiring deep insight, healing, and personal growth. 

As part of my journey in decolonizing mental health and healing, I began to apprentice under curanderas and was eventually initiated into a healing lineage in Latin America. My interests in Indigenous healing practices and shamanism led me to study depth psychology and Jungian analytical psychology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. I am now a doctor of depth psychology as well as an ordained priest of the Q’eqchi’ Maya tradition.

Presently, I teach at the Pacifica Graduate Institute (in Santa Barbara, CA) as well as the Denver Family Institute (in Denver, CO). I have designed and taught courses on decoloniality, critical self-awareness (reflexivity) with regard to mental health systems.
